Brad Parsons Middle School Wrestlers have 9 Champions at Boone Central

Our middle school wrestlers really picked it up this weekend and wrestled extremely well. The champions were Jon Venzor, Jose Dela Cruz, Cole Beebe, Kalen Kasik, Manuel Ramirez, Michael Swanson, Edgardo Gonzalez, Omar Rodrigez, and Chase Hron. Al Sucha Nelson is Champion; Warriors Place 6th at Boys Town Invite

The Schuyler Warriors wrestling team traveled to Omaha for the 39th annual Boys Town Invitational. The tournament as usual brings some of the best teams in. 7 of the top 10 Class B teams are there along with 2 of Iowa’s powerhouse teams. Schuyler went into the 2-day tournament only supporting 8 varsity wrestlers. After the dust settled Saturday night, the Warriors had 6 medalists and a lone champion in Easton Nelson. Al Sucha Schuyler puts 3 into Boys Town Invite Finals

The Schuyler Warriors wrestling team traveled to Omaha for the 39th annual Boys Town Invitational. The tournament as usual brings some of the best teams in. 7 of the top 10 Class B teams are there along with 2 of Iowa’s powerhouse teams. Schuyler went into the Friday rounds only supporting 8 varsity wrestlers. Al Sucha Warriors Place Second at the York Invite

The Schuyler Warrior wrestling team traveled to York for the York Invite on Saturday. The Warriors rolled through the tournament finishing second place in the team race even though they were open at 3 weight classes. The results were:

103 lbs: Open (S)

112 lbs: Elias Acosta (S) lost by decision to Cody Rhodes (Y) 10-9. Acosta won by decision over Horky (F) 8-6. Acosta lost by decision to Null (PLA). Acosta did not place.

119 lbs: Esgardo Acosta (S) received a first round

Al Sucha Warriors Open Season with Dual Win

The Schuyler Warrior wrestling team opened up their 2009 campaign hosting the Crete Cardinals in a Central 10 conference dual on Thursday night. The Warriors come into this season needing to plug a few holes in the lineup after having lost a couple of important seniors from last season, most notably 3-time state champion Dusty Stodola. The veteran team will be looking to improve upon last years 7th place finish at the state tournament. The results were:

Jim Kasik High School Wrestling Progress

The Schuyler Warriors have a week and a half of practice under their belt. Things are going well, we have about 25 wrestlers competing for 14 varsity weights. We have 3 seniors, 11 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 9 freshman. Overall our effort has been very good, we are getting guys down to weight and in wrestling shape for our home opener with 8th rated Crete on Dec. 3rd at 7:00 pm. Cole Heavican Nov 21, 2009 - Stodola, Savala shine at Nebraska-Omaha invite

OMAHA - Chadron State College’s Jimmy Savala and Dustin Stodola each claimed fourth place finishes at the University of Nebraska-Omaha Kaufman Brand Invitational Saturday in Omaha. Savala, a junior from Clovis, Calif., went 5-2 at 141 pounds in the Elite Division. Brad Parsons Middle School Results from The Howells Invite

The Schuyler Middle School Warrior Wrestlers took to the mat on Nov. 21 for the Howells Wrestling Tournament. The team came home with a host of medals. Al Sucha Stodola Places in his First College Tournament

Last Saturday former Schuyler wrestler Dusty Stodola competed in the Cowboy Open at Laramie, WY. Dusty competed in the 125 lb Amateur division for the Chadron State Eagles. Out of 24 wrestlers Dusty was able to finish in fourth place. Other wrestlers with Nebraska ties wrestled in this division but did not place were: George Billy, Wes Negley, and Zach Cottle. Cole Heavican CSC wrestlers perform well at season-opening tourney

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Three Chadron State wrestlers placed in the top four during their first weekend of competition at the University of Wyoming Cowboy Open on Saturday. Jimmy Savala, a two-time national qualifier, finished second at 141 pounds in the Elite Division, while Ryan Fillingame and Dustin Stodola finished first and fourth, respectively, in the Amateur Division. Jim Kasik Jay Sherer ranked 3rd in Division II

Former Schuyler wrestler and Columbus High State Champion is currently ranked 3rd in the nation in Division II. Jay Sherer is coming off of his All-American finish last year wrestling for Augustana. Jay is ranked #1 in his conference and is one of the top wrestlers for Augustana. Al Sucha Stodola Wins Wrestle-off for CSC

Former Warrior wrestler Dusty Stodola competed in wrestle-offs on November 6 for the Chadron State Eagles. Stodola won by decision over Devin Cox 5-3. This puts Stodola at the top of his 125 lb. weight class. Great Job Dusty!! Continue

Ticket order forms are now available for the 2010 Nebraska State Wrestling Tournament. The Schuyler Wrestling Club will once again order the tickets as a group to get everyone in one section. Jim Kasik Schuyler in B-2 district again, nicknamed "The BEAST"

Schuyler will be back in the B-2 district along with: Bennington, Blair, Boone Central, BoysTown, Lakeview, M. Michael, ONeil, Roncalli, Skutt, Wahoo, and Wayne. This district returns 37 state Qualifiers, 16 state placers and 3 state champions. Jim Kasik Enrique Torres Climbs MMA ladder of success

Former 171 pounder Enrique Torres continues to attend classes at UNK and train as a MMA fighter. Enrique has posted an undefeated record (5-0) at 185 pounds, winning most fight with knockouts. His most recent fight, had him claim an amateur belt . We will try to keep updating his success. Continue
